Creating Opportunities From Expansion Opportunities

When you’ve created an expansion opportunity and want to create a Salesforce opportunity from it to pass on to the sales team, you can create an opportunity from an expansion opportunity. You can create opportunities from expansion opportunities using the Create Opportunity from Expansion Opportunity action in the Actions panel available on expansion opportunity record pages.

To create an opportunity from an expansion opportunity:

  1. [Optional] Update the name for the opportunity.
  2. [Optional] Update the Account for the opportunity.
  3. [Optional] Update the close date for the opportunity. This field is automatically populated with the date 60 days from today’s date, by default. Your administrator can update the offset value.
  4. [Optional] Update the stage for the opportunity. Your administrator can update the default value.
  5. [Optional] Update the quantity for the opportunity. This field is automatically populated using the value in the Predicted Value field on the expansion opportunity.
  6. [Optional] Update the type for the opportunity. Your administrator can update the default value.
  7. [Optional] Update the lead source for the opportunity. Your administrator can update the default value.
  8. [Optional] Update the description for the opportunity. This field is automatically populated from the description on the expansion opportunity, however the formatting is removed.
  9. Click Create.
