Adding Services Credits Deliverables to Projects

When you add services credits deliverables to a project, a copy of the deliverable and its deliverable items are created on the project. Within the project, they are called project services credits deliverables and project services credits deliverable items.

The milestone associated with each project services credits deliverable item is also copied to the project. The following related records are copied along with the milestone:

  • Project Task
  • Project Task Assignment
  • Project Task Dependency
  • Resource Request
  • Resource Skill Request
  • Risk
  • Schedule
  • Schedule Exception
Note:

The project services credits deliverable provides a snapshot of the deliverable at the time of adding it to the project. Any future changes or updates to the source deliverable will only apply to new project deliverables.

There are two ways to add services credits deliverables to a project:

  • Only active deliverables that include at least one active item can be added to projects.
  • The currency on the project services credits deliverable is populated from the currency on the project.
  • The services credits allocations on the project services credits deliverable items are automatically populated when the credits are allocated to the associated milestone. You must be assigned the PSA - Manage Services Credits Allocations permission set to allocate services credits.
  • You can add deliverables that are associated with different templates to the same project.
  • Records related to milestones might take longer to be added to the project than the milestones, project services credits deliverables, and deliverable items, because they are processed asynchronously.

Adding Services Credits Deliverables to a Project

To add services credits deliverables to a project:

  1. On a project record, click Actions | Planning Tools | Add Services Credits Deliverables. The Add Services Credits Deliverables window opens.
  2. Select the deliverables you want to add to the project.
  3. Click Add.

Search capabilities in the table use SOSL across all text fields.

The selected deliverables and their items are copied to the project as project services credits deliverables and project services credits deliverable items. The milestones associated with each item, along with their related records, are also copied.

Adding Deliverables and Allocating Credits

To add services credits deliverables to a project and automatically allocate credits to its milestones:

  1. Follow steps 1 to 2 in the previous section.
  2. Click Add and Allocate Credits.
  3. Select one of the following allocation modes:

    • Allow Partial Success: If errors occur, the process excludes any records with errors and creates all other records.
    • Do Not Allow Partial Success: If errors occur, the entire process is aborted and no records are created.
  4. Click Add.

The selected deliverables and their items, along with their associated milestones and related records, are copied to the project. This same process then automatically allocates services credits to the milestones. Related services credits consumption and allocation records are generated to store details of the credits that have been allocated to the milestones.
