Calculating Utilization

To schedule a utilization calculation on the PSA Administration page, see PSA Administration.

Tip:

You can include or exclude data in or from Utilization calculation. For example, excluding roles from utilization calculations if they are not relevant for capacity planning. For information, see Utilization Calculations Overview.

To calculate utilization:

1. Display the resource A contact that works on a project., region A level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., practice A level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects. or group A level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects. that you want to calculate utilization for.
   Note: If any region, practice, or group is marked as Inactive, these regions, practices, and groups are excluded from and are not displayed in the search results. You can only select RPGs from the dropdown that are active.
2. Click Calculate Utilization.

3. Complete the fields described in the following sections as appropriate and then click Next:

   • Information
   • Summary By Role
   • Compute Sub-Totals
   • Historical Utilization
   • Scheduled Utilization
4. Review and correct any errors.
5. Click Calculate to calculate utilization now and create the utilization calculation record. A bar displays the progress of the processing utilization calculation.
6. Click Close in the window to continue the utilization calculation.
