Mass Update Filters Process

You can use the mass update filters process to update the dimension and measure filters and the dimension value mappings in your plans. This eliminates the need for individual manual changes. Changes made in this process cannot be undone.

To complete the mass update filters process:

  1. From the Planning Task Launcher, click Update Filters. The Update Filters wizard opens.
  2. In the Filters section, search for your default scenario by selecting the input data source used to create the scenario. If required, you can also apply further filters, such as plan name, category, sub-category, or label, to narrow down your search.
  3. Click Apply. The plans selected based on your filtering criteria appear in the Plans section of the wizard. To add or remove a plan from the list, adjust your filters and click Apply, or click Clear to remove all filters.
  4. Click Next. The Configure Dimension Filters page of the wizard displays. This page enables you to redefine the filters applied to the dataset when retrieving data from Analytics. These changes cannot be undone.

  5. Redefine the filters. To do this:

    1. Search for and select the dimension whose values you want to filter.
    2. Select the operator used when applying the filter.

    3. Depending on the operator that you selected, do one of the following:

      • If you selected "Equals" or "Does Not Equal", search for and select the values.
      • If you selected "Contains", "Does Not Contain", or "Starts With", enter the value that you want to use.
      • If you selected "Is Null" or "Is Not Null", proceed to the next step.
    4. To add more filters, click Add Filter and then repeat steps a-c.
  6. Click Next. The Configure Measure Filters page of the wizard displays. This page enables you to redefine the filters applied to the dataset when retrieving data from Analytics. These changes cannot be undone.

  7. Redefine the filters. To do this:

    1. Select the operator used when applying the filter.
    2. If you selected the operator "Equals" or "Does Not Equal", search for and select the values.
  8. Click Next. The Configure Dimension Value Mappings page of the wizard displays. This page enables you to reconfigure the dimension value mappings. These changes cannot be undone.

  9. Reconfigure the dimension value mappings. To do this:

    1. Search for and select an Analytics dimension.
    2. Search for and select a dimension that maps to the Analytics dimension.
    3. Repeat steps a and b for each dimension mapping whose value order you want to customize.
  10. Click Save.
