Reverse Allocating a Sales Order Line Item
You can reverse allocate a sales order line item to cancel a previous allocation of stock to a specific line item. Allocation is the action of reserving available quantities of inventory items for a particular sales order line item, ensuring that the stock is held. Reverse allocation, conversely, releases the reserved quantities of inventory back into the general pool of available, unallocated stock.
There are two ways you can reverse allocate sales order line items:
- From the sales order line item's detail page:
- Click Reverse Allocate. A confirmation message displays.
- Click Reverse Allocate.
- From the Sales Order Line Items grid on the sales order's record page:
- Select the lines you want to reverse allocate.
- Click Reverse Allocate Lines. A confirmation message displays.
- Click Reverse Allocate Lines.
The status of the sales order line item is updated as follows:
| Status Before Reverse Allocation | Status After Reverse Allocation |
|---|---|
| Allocated | New |
| Partially Allocated | New |
| Partially Shipped | Revised |
| Backordered | Revised |
