Creating Assignments and Resource Requests from Gantt

Note:

We're retiring the Gantt page, and Project Task Gantt, and they'll be deactivated in a future release, no sooner than Spring 2027. We'll continue to support the Gantt page and Project Task Gantt until deactivation, but recommend that you start using Gantt on a project record. Work with your administrator to start using Gantt on a project record.

When you have created assignments or held resource requests, you need to refresh Gantt for the details to be displayed.

To create assignments or resource requests from Gantt:

1. Create the relevant PTAs, add estimated hours to the task, and then click Save.
2. Click to open the relevant pages:

• To generate assignments, click the main part of the button to open the default Generate Assignments from Project Task Assignments page.

• To generate unheld or held resource requests, click the drop-down part of the button, and then select an option:

  • Create Resource Requests. This opens the Generate Resource Requests from Project Task Assignments page, where you can create unheld resource requests.
  • Create Held Resource Requests. This opens the Generate Held Resource Requests from Project Task Assignments page.

Note:

If or any of the options in the drop-down part of the button are not visible, check with your administrator as they can be hidden using the settings available in Gantt Global Settings. For more information, see Configuring Gantt Custom Settings.
