Filtering Plan Views Using Dimension Values

If your plan's lowest-level column dimension has more than one value, every value is displayed by default. However, you can use the dimension value filter to display a single value instead, so that you can focus on the data you need without exceeding the plan's column limit.

To use the dimension value filter:

  1. Open the plan that you want to view.
  2. In the plan table toolbar, click the dimension value filter that displays the lowest-level dimension value for your plan.
  3. Select the value you want to display the columns for, or select "All" to display all columns.

Selecting a single value hides the columns for the other values, and any rows, including subtotal rows, that relate only to those hidden values. This does not change the underlying data. Calculations and KPIs always reflect every value, regardless of which one you select.

Notes:
  • To use the dimension value filter, you must be assigned the Filter Columns by Dimension Values feature permission via a feature access rule. This permission is assigned by default.
  • Your selection is saved automatically, and applied the next time you open that plan. Your selection does not apply to any other user's view of that plan or your view of other plans.
  • The dimension value filter is also available when the plan is embedded on another record page.
  • If you export the plan as an XLSX file while a dimension value filter is applied, the exported file contains only the columns and rows that are currently visible.
  • The dimension value filter does not appear if the plan's lowest-level dimension has only one value, or if there is no dimension to filter on.
