Rate Card Sets
More about the home page.
- In the View section, select an appropriate list view from the drop-down list to go directly to that list page, or click Create New View to define your own custom list view. List views let you display a list of records that match specific criteria.
- In the Recent section, select an item from the drop-down list to display a brief list of the top records matching that criteria. The choices are listed in the table.
- From the list, you can click any rate card set number to go directly to its detail.

Rate card sets enable you to group rate cards into a set which you can then apply to a project or opportunity so that you can control the rates used in the project.
For information about creating rate card sets, and linking them to rate cards, see Creating Rate Card Sets and Linking Rate Card Sets. For information about rate card matching configuration, see Setting up Rate Cards.
Sets Only
When the Sets Only checkbox is selected on a rate card, that rate card is only considered for matching against resource requests and assignments on projects or opportunities that have a Rate Card Set containing it assigned.
Rate cards with Sets Only selected are not matched against projects or opportunities that have no Rate Card Set assigned, or that have a different Rate Card Set assigned. This allows you to create contracted rate cards that are specific to a particular project's Rate Card Set without affecting rate card matching for other projects.
You can create multiple rate cards with Sets Only selected that share the same resource role, currency, and region, practice, or group values, as long as they are each associated with a different Rate Card Set. This allows the same role to carry different contracted rates in different Rate Card Sets.
Rate Card Fallback
You can control rate card set fallback independently for each rate type using the Rate Card Fallback (Bill), Rate Card Fallback (Cost), and Rate Card Fallback (Static) checkboxes on the Rate Card Set. When a fallback checkbox is selected for a rate type and no rate card of that type in the set matches a resource request or assignment, the matcher searches for a matching rate card of that type outside the set. Rate cards with Sets Only selected are not included in this fallback search.
When a rate card in the assigned set matches, it takes priority over any rate card outside the set, even if the outside rate card would otherwise be a closer match by resource role, region, practice, group, or currency criteria.
If a rate card in the set has an end date that has passed, it is treated as no match in the set. If the corresponding fallback checkbox is selected on the set, the fallback path then applies.
Re-Matching Resource Requests
When you assign a Rate Card Set to a project that already has resource requests with matched rate cards, the rate cards on those resource requests are automatically re-matched to apply the Rate Card Set's matching rules.
Contract Rate Cards
When a Resource Request has a negotiated contract rate card applied, you can protect it from being replaced during rate card matching by selecting the Use Contract Bill Rate Card, Use Contract Cost Rate Card, or Use Contract Rate Card checkbox on the Resource Request. Each rate type is independently pinnable.
When a rate type is pinned, the rate card matcher skips it and leaves the existing rate card in place. Selecting or clearing a pin checkbox re-triggers rate card matching, so the change takes effect immediately. When a pin is cleared, the matcher resumes normal matching for that rate type.
You can also pin bill, cost, and fixed rate cards directly on an Assignment, using the same Use Contract Bill Rate Card, Use Contract Cost Rate Card, and Use Contract Rate Card checkboxes. A card can be pinned on an Assignment even when there is no Resource Request behind it, for example when a resource is assigned directly to a project. Selecting or clearing a pin checkbox on an Assignment re-triggers rate card matching in the same way as on a Resource Request.
When a pinned fixed rate card is applied to an Assignment, the Suggested Bill Rate and Average Cost Rate are populated directly from that card, and any project or opportunity discount is not applied.
For information about the pin fields, see Resource Request Fields and Assignment Fields.
