Resource Request Staffer Overview
Resource Request Staffer provides two ways for you to easily staff multiple resource requests from a single page. You can:
- Allow the resource matching process to find suitable matches for multiple selected resource requests (Intelligent Staffing
The name given to PSA's resource matching engine which filters and ranks resources based on their suitability by taking account of filter criteria, skills, availability, and cost.). - Manually choose a resource for individual resource requests (Simple Staffing
When enabled in Resource Request Staffer, you can manually choose the resource you want to match to a resource request instead of letting the resource matching process (Intelligent Staffing) do it for you.)
Once resources are matched to resource requests, their suitability and availability are shown on the Match Results tab. You can review this information before deciding whether to shortlist, hold, or assign them.
Resource Request Staffer Tabs
Resource Request Staffer includes two tabs, Open Requests and Match Results. You can perform different actions from each one.
Open Requests Tab
The Open Requests tab displays resource requests with a start date after today's date that are not matched, and do not have the Auto-Hold or Auto-Assign checkbox selected. From this tab, you can:
- Filter the resource requests
- View the details of suggested resources
- Manually choose a resource for individual resource requests
- Define priorities and weightings for use by the resource matching process
- Match resources
The order in which rows are displayed determines the priority of the resource requests during the matching process. You can reorder the resource requests by dragging and dropping them using
. To reorder multiple resource requests simultaneously, select each resource request before dragging and dropping them. Copying rows is not permitted.
By default, the resource requests are sorted in ascending order according to their start date. You can click any column header to sort the resource requests according to the column value.
You can right-click the column header of a picklist or lookup field to group the resource requests by the column value. Alternatively, select the field in the Group By drop-down list in the grid's toolbar. When resource requests are grouped, they can only be reordered within their respective groups.

Match Results Tab
The Match Results tab displays the outcome of matching. This includes resource requests matched to resources chosen manually or by the resource matching process, and any errors. From this tab, you can:
- Filter the resource requests
- View the match quality and availability of matched resources
- Clear matched resources
- Shortlist matched resources
- Hold matched resources
- Assign matched resources
- Click
or
on a resource request's row to view details of any issue encountered during matching.
If the grid includes columns for the resource role, region, practice, group, or resource search fields on the resource request, and the matched resource matches any of those fields, a
is displayed in the cell and its value is shown in bold. You can also view the criteria and skills that a resource matches by hovering over the resource's name in the Suggested Resource or Matched Resource column, or by displaying the Resource Details panel.
