Creating and Submitting Timecards

Ensure your organization has correctly configured projects, milestones, resource assignments, workflows and permission controls before submitting your first timecard.

To create and submit a timecard:

  1. Click the Timecard tab, or the link on sidebar, to display the Timecard Entry page.
  2. Click New.
  3. Select the Week Ending Date by clicking the arrow buttons or date entry field.
  4. If you are entering time for yourself, the Resource field defaults to your name. If you are entering time for someone else, select the resource. If you are using the enhanced timecard UI use the Resource lookup .
  5. In the Timecards section, select the project/assignment. If you are using the enhanced timecard UI use the Project/Assignment lookup .
  6. [Optional] Select or deselect Billable as applicable.
  7. You may be required to enter notes. If so, click the notes icon to begin. Click Done when finished.
  8. Complete the remaining fields as described in "Timecard Entry Fields".
  9. Add a line for each project/assignment. Click Add Lines to add more lines.
  10. Click Save if you think you may need to make changes before submitting the timecard.
  11. When you are ready to submit the timecard for approval, click Submit.
Note
Once you have submitted a timecard, you cannot update it unless you have administrator permissions.
Depending on the configuration your administrator has set, a warning is displayed if you enter a timecard with zero or negative hours.
