New Features and Enhancements in Engagement Analytics Spring 2022

The following new features have been introduced in the Spring 2022 release of Engagement Analytics:

Revenue Recognition Values

If you use FinancialForce Revenue Management, your Engagement Analytics app can now include revenue recognition data for each revenue stream. The Engagement Services and Summary dashboards can include the Recognized and Amortized values. The Engagement Subscriptions dashboard can include the Recognized value.

If your Financial Analytics and PSA Analytics apps contain revenue recognition values, they are automatically included when you create or update your Engagement Analytics app. For more information, see Revenue Recognized in the Billing Contracts Dataset and Revenue Recognized and Cost Amortized for Projects.

In addition, the Order Management dashboard can also include the revenue recognition values for sales orders. For more information, see Revenue Recognized and Cost Amortized for Order Management.

Note:

Revenue Management does not automatically copy the recognized and amortized values from performance obligations back to the source records. If you use engagements with revenue contracts, this means that the relevant fields on projects, billing contract line items, and sales order line items are not populated. Because of this, the values are also not available in Analytics. In this case, we recommend that you create a custom process to populate the fields in Revenue Management. Similarly, if you use PSA and recognize revenue on lower-lever business records, for example milestones or timecards, the values are not automatically summed in the total fields on the project. To include the values in Analytics, you must create a custom process in Revenue Management that populates the fields.

Improved Support for Multiple Currencies

If your org is configured to support multiple currencies, the values in the Engagement Analytics dashboards are now displayed in the currency of the engagement record. If a dashboard contains data for multiple engagements, the values are displayed in your corporate currency. This might happen, for example, if you are viewing the dashboard from Analytics Studio or a workspace.

In addition, the Engagement Summary, Services, Subscriptions, and Order Management dashboards now include the Currency drop-down selector. You can use the selector to display the values in any other Salesforce currency that is configured in your org.

To support this feature, we have added the new Currencies dataset. For more information, see Currencies Dataset Output Fields (Engagement Analytics).
