Adjusting Hours in the Timeline Panel (Rapid Edit)
To edit assignment hours per cell:
- Select Day, Week, Month, or Quarter in the Zoom picklist.
- Double-click a cell in the Timeline to edit. Edited assignment hours are based on the zoom level. For example, if you are in a week zoom level, the hours you edit are applied to the week.

You can change edit mode at any time between the Total hours constant and End date held constant modes. These correspond to the Hold total assignment hours constant setting in the Planners - Project and Planners - Resource custom settings.

- Double click a resource, project, sub-project, assignment or held resource request to show the edit assignments panel.
- Select a row and review the standard schedule pattern in the Schedule Pattern section.

- Enter some new scheduled hours per day.
- Optionally, you may want to apply the exception between two dates that lie within the assignment's date range. Let's say, for example, that you'll be seconded to another project for a week and will now only work four instead of eight hours per day on this assignment. In this case, select a new start or end date: choose dates from the Apply Pattern Between calendars.

If you do not specify an end date in the date range, the end date defaults to the start date. - Click Apply Schedule Pattern.
- Click Save to apply any changes to the corresponding records in your organization
