Cash Entry Line Items

This topic relates to Accounting Extended EditionClosed The view of the application that you see when you install one of the extension packages (such as the Cash Entry Extension package). For invoices, credit notes, and journals Extended Edition is integrated into the main package, but must be configured. only.

There are two ways to add new account lines to a cash entry in Extended EditionClosed The view of the application that you see when you install one of the extension packages (such as the Cash Entry Extension package). For invoices, credit notes, and journals Extended Edition is integrated into the main package, but must be configured.:

  • Using the New Cash Entry Line Item button.
  • Using the Manage Lines button.

Before adding a new cash entry line you can select the alternate account in the Bank Charges GLA field. The content is taken from the bank account settings. The GLA mappings are shown.

Note:

To use local GLAs, edit the layout to add the Local GLA lookup. The Use Local GLAs checkbox must be selected for your user company.

Warning:

When creating or editing line items, we do not recommend changing any default values that are applicable to those line items. The fields in the Line Items grid might be editable regardless of the field accessibility settings in your org. For more information, see Field-Level Security.

To add a new line item using the New Cash Entry Line Item button:

  1. Display the detail page for the "In Progress" cash entry that you want to add lines to.
  2. Scroll down to the Cash Entry Line Items section.
  3. Click New Cash Entry Line Item.
  4. If you want to accept any or all of the default values, keep the relevant Derive checkboxes selected and leave the corresponding fields blank. To specify custom values, enter them into the appropriate field. There is no need to deselect the Derive checkbox.
  5. Specify the account.
  6. [Optional] Enter a line description.
  7. Enter the remaining details for the cash entry account line, including a cash entry value and any bank charges or processing fees specific to this line.
  8. If you want the application to derive the analysis dimensionsClosed Custom objects that allow you to analyze the activity in your business in additional ways, such as by cost center, project, employee, or any other business entity important to you. automatically from the account, leave the Derive Account Dimensions checkbox selected. To provide an alternative, just select the new values.
  9. Click Save to save the line item. You can also click Save & New to save the changes to the current line item and begin to create another.

To add a new line item using the Manage Lines button:

  1. Display the detail page for the "In Progress" cash entry that you want to add lines to.
  2. Click Manage Lines.
  3. Specify the account. Any default values are retrieved on tab out.
  4. [Optional] Edit the retrieved default values.
  5. Enter the cash entry value.
  6. [Optional] Enter any line charges.
  7. [Optional] Click Add New Line to add another line and repeat.
  8. Click Save All.

The Bank Account Value field is hidden when cash entry currency = bank account currency.

Cloning Line Items

To clone lines:

  1. Select the checkboxes of the lines you want to clone.
  2. Click Clones Lines above the grid.
  3. [Optional] Modify the cloned lines as required.
  4. Click Save.
Note: When you clone a journal line and modify the Line Type, all fields in the line appear blank. This is an expected behavior.

Deleting Line Items

To delete lines:

  1. Select the checkboxes of the lines you want to delete.
  2. Click above the grid.
  3. Click Save.
