Viewing Consolidation Group

When viewing the consolidation group structure chart, ensure the following requirements are met in the Company Ownership Record:

  • There is only one "Control" investor company assigned. To ensure this, review the Ownership Category field.
  • The sum of the Ownership Percentage (%) for Internal Investors and External Investors does not exceed 100%.

These two requirements take into consideration the start and end dates for the company ownership as well as the status of the Is Active checkbox.

To view the Consolidation Group:

  1. Click and search for Consolidation Group.
  2. Click Consolidation Group from the menu. If you have the Consolidation Structure Chart feature enabled it is displayed automatically.
  3. [Optional] If you cannot view the required company card on the displayed Consolidation Group Structure Chart, enter the company name in the Search field, select the company and click .
  4. [Optional] Click View Details on any company card to view more details about the selected company.
  5. [Optional] Select any Quick Action button on the upper-right corner if you want to view the Consolidation Group Structure Chart in various types. For more information on Quick Actions and Buttons, see Consolidation Group Structure Setting Fields.
Notes:
  • When you select a company either by searching or by clicking on its company card, the path between the selected company and its root company is highlighted to help you track the root company.
  • To untrack the root company, click .
  • By default, all the Accounting Companies of the active control ownership record are displayed on the Consolidation Group Structure Chart. To view only the entities, click .

You can select a date from the Date field to display a Consolidation Group Structure Chart of the companies with the Ownership Category field set to "Control" on the selected date. By default, today's date is set in the date field. If you select a date and no Consolidation Group Structure Chart appears then you must check for the following possible cases for the selected date:

  • Allocated ownership exceeded 100%.
  • Company ownership records are not created or updated.
  • Multiple root companies are found.
  • A valid date is not selected.
Note:

The accounting companies with any structural change that leads to the creation of a new company ownership record with control ownership during the financial year of the selected date, are displayed with on the Consolidation Group Structure Chart. The structural change here means any economic transactions leading to the acquisition or disposal of any accounting companies.

Example

The example here illustrates when the accounting companies with any structural changes are displayed with or without on the Consolidation Group Structure Chart.

When CompanyA acquires CompanyB on July 1, 2022, then a new company ownership record is created with the Ownership Category as “Control” and start date or the acquisition date as July 1, 2022. The financial year of the selected date on the Consolidation Group page is considered while displaying the valid Consolidation Group Structure Chart. If the acquisition date falls in the financial year of the selected date and CompanyA, CompanyB or both have the same financial year then the companies are displayed with .

Here CompanyA has financial years with months from January - December and CompanyB has financial years with months from September - August.

  • When the selected date on the Consolidation Group page is August 31, 2022, then the financial year January, 2022 - December 2022 is considered for CompanyA and the financial year September 2021 - August 2022 is considered for CompanyB.
    • CompanyA and CompanyB both are displayed with , because the acquisition date falls in the financial year of the selected date that matches the financial years of both the companies.
  • When the selected date on the Consolidation Group page is December 31, 2022, then the financial year January, 2022 - December 2022 is considered for CompanyA and the financial year September 2022 - August 2023 is considered for CompanyB.
    • CompanyA is displayed with , because the acquisition date falls in the financial year of the selected date that matches with CompanyA's financial year.
  • When the selected date on the Consolidation Group page is January 1, 2023, then the financial year January, 2023 - December 2023 is considered for CompanyA and the financial year September 2022 - August, 2023 is considered for CompanyB.
    • Both the companies are displayed without , because the acquisition date does not fall in the financial year of the selected date.
