Using the Engagement Services Dashboard

You can access the Engagement Services dashboard from the Services tab of an engagement record.

This dashboard enables you to:

  • Identify the amount of revenue generated by services.
  • Identify the amount of revenue generated, the amount of revenue recognized, the amount invoiced to date, the cost incurred, the cost amortized, and the profit margin achieved per project.
  • View additional information for each project.

More information about each chart is provided below. For more information about how the values are calculated, see Engagement Analytics Data Reference.

Currency Drop-Down Selector

You can use the Currency drop-down selector to change the currency that the values are displayed in. You can select any of the active Salesforce currencies in your org.

By default, the values in the dashboard are displayed in the currency of the engagement record. If the dashboard contains data for multiple engagements, the values are displayed in the corporate currency by default.

Recognized and Amortized Values

The amount of revenue recognized and the amount of cost amortized are displayed in the dashboard only if you use Revenue Management and your PS Cloud Core Analytics app contains at least one of the following fields in the Project Reporting dataset:

  • Project Cost Amortized
  • Project Revenue Recognized
  • Project Total Cost Amortized
  • Project Total Revenue Recognized

Otherwise, the values are not displayed in any of the charts within the dashboard. For more information about when the fields are available in the dataset, see Project Reporting Dataset Output Fields.

Services Revenue Donut Chart

The Services Revenue donut chart enables you to view the portion that each project contributes towards the amount of revenue generated by services.

You can hover over a slice to view the percentage that a particular project contributes towards the services revenue amount.

You can also click a slice of the chart to highlight a project. The remaining charts on the dashboard refresh automatically to display only the data for the selected project.

By Measure Stacked Bar Chart

If it is not already displayed, you can access the stacked bar chart by clicking By Measure. The chart enables you to view the cumulative revenue, invoiced, cost, margin, revenue recognized, and cost amortized amounts across all projects included in the engagement.

Each project displays in a different color, enabling you to view the portion that it contributes towards the total amount for a specific measure. You can hover over a part of each bar to view the percentage that a particular project contributes towards the total amount for the selected measure.

By Project Bar Chart

You can access the bar chart by clicking By Project. The chart groups the revenue, invoiced, cost, margin, revenue recognized, and cost amortized measures by project.

Status Donut Chart

The Status donut chart enables you to view the current status of the projects included in the engagement.

The chart displays one of four dimensions. Use the drop-down list located above the chart to change the dimension. The following options are available:

  • "Project Status" - default option
  • "Scope Status"
  • "Financial Status"
  • "Schedule Status"

Each of the dimensions is expressed with a value of either "Red", "Yellow", or "Green". The appropriate color is applied to the relevant slice of the donut. This allows you to identify the number of projects that have a specific status. If a value for a specific status isn't defined in PSA, the value displays as "N/A" in the chart and a gray color is applied to the chart.

Project Details Table Chart

The Project Details table provides more information about each project included in the engagement.

You can click the number of a project to open its record page.
