Creating Slack Channels for Projects

You can create Slack channels for projects and invite resources that are assigned to those projects. This enables you to approve timecards and expense reports in Slack. For more information, see Managing Slack Channel Members.

Note: This does not affect other parts of the approval process.

Creating Slack Channels for Projects

To create a Slack channel for a project:

1. In the project record, select the Slack tab. You cannot create a new channel if it exists already.
2. Enter a channel name, if needed. By default, a suggested channel name is provided using the project name.
3. Click Create. The channel is added.

Note: Channel names must not exceed the maximum allowed by Slack, must be unique and must contain only lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores.
