Creating a New Reporting Data Range
To create and add a new reporting data range to a report:
- Click the Reporting Definitions tab.
- Open the relevant reporting definition detail page by clicking its name in the list of reporting definitions.
- In the Reporting Data Ranges related list, click New Reporting Data Range.

Provide the following information:
- Reporting Data Range Name: give the new data range a name.
- Reporting Definition: skip this field as it is predefined.
- Reporting Object: select the object you want to report on.
- Type: select the type of data range that you want to create (Summary or Detail). Summary is the default selection. See What is a Reporting Data Range? for more information about these types.
- Template Key: select a template key
The reference that the reporting template uses to retrieve the data for the report. . The template key defines where in the reporting template
The Visualforce page on which the report is based. the data will appear.
- Click Save or, if you want to save the current record and immediately create another, click Save & New.
To edit an existing reporting data range, click Edit next to the name of the data range on the Reporting Data Ranges related list.
