What is a Reporting Data Range?

Each reporting data range has selection criteria defining the "pot" of data to be reported on within the reporting data range. A reporting data range works within only one object. By creating multiple reporting data ranges, a report can access multiple "pots" of data from different objects.

There are of two types of data range. The data range type that you select here dictates the types of query methods (reporting value types) that are valid at reporting value level.

  • Summary, containing three aggregation query methods (reporting value types), called Group, Sum and Count. This type is the default.
  • Detail, containing a single list query method (reporting value type), called Detail.
