Setting up Extended Planning and Analysis

Installations are carried out by the Certinia Onboarding team. To install the Extended Planning and Analysis package, contact your Customer Support representative.

The June 2024 release of Extended Planning and Analysis does not require any other Certinia packages to be installed.

Post-Install Steps

If you have permissions to do so, follow the steps described in this section to set up and configure Extended Planning and Analysis.

Note:

The section outlines the steps for a first installation of Extended Planning and Analysis. If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Extended Planning and Analysis June 2024.

To perform the steps, you must be assigned the System Administrator profile and the CRM Analytics Platform Admin permission set. To complete the tasks, follow the steps and refer to the related Help pages.

1 Ensure that Analytics is enabled in your org. See the Salesforce Help.

Assign the CRM Analytics Platform User permission set to users who need to:

  • Create data sources.
  • Send plans to Analytics.
Note:

This is a standard Salesforce permission set that automatically provides access to the Analytics Platform permission set license.

3 Assign the Extended Planning and Analysis permission sets to the relevant users. Permission Sets and Other Technical Documentation

[Optional] Display the related plan directly on an object's record page. For example, you can display the plan related to an account, a project, or a company. To do this:

  1. Create lookup fields on the Plan object to the objects that you intend to create plans for. For example, Account, Project, or Accounting Company.
  2. Add the xP&A Embedded Plan Lightning component to the Lightning record pages for the objects that you created lookups to.

Initial Data Setup

After you have completed the post-install steps, perform the following steps to ensure that your users can create plans.
