Serial Number Fields

Here is a description of the fields that make up a Serial Number.

Key: * – Mandatory field; R – Read-only.

Field		Description
Customer Return Line		Lookup to the customer return line associated with the serial number.
In Inventory		Indicates whether the serial number is currently in stock.
Item		Item to which the serial number relates.
Item Description		Description of the item to which the serial number relates.
Ownership Code		Code representing the owner of the item. The codes available come from the Ownership tab on the Codes tab. See Codes.
Production Order		When the item associated with the serial number belongs to a production order, the production order appears here.
Production Order Line		When the item associated with the serial number belongs to a production order, the production order line appears here.
Serial Number		Actual serial number displayed on the item.
Serial Number Name		Unique number of the record in Order and Inventory Management.
Type of Serial Number		Indicates the type of serial number tracking applied to the item

Acquisition Information

These fields contain information about how and when the item associated with the serial number was acquired.

Field		Description
Supplier		Supplier of the item.
Purchase Order Line Item		Purchase order line item to which this serial number relates.
Service Purchase Order Line Item		Service purchase order line item to which this serial number relates.
Receipt Line		Receipt line of the receipt record created when the item was received in the warehouse.
Received Date		Date on which the item was received in the warehouse.
AP Voucher Line		AP Accounts Payable line associated wit this serial number.

Shipment Information

These fields contain information about the shipment that the item associated with the serial number is going out on. This is used when tracking inbound and outbound serial numbers.

Field		Description
Customer		Customer the item was sent to.
Sales Order Line Item		The sales order line item associated with the serial number.
Shipment Date		Date of the shipment to which the serial number belongs.
Shipping		Shipment to which the serial number belongs.
Invoice Line Item		Draft invoice line associated with this serial number.
Service Contract Line		Service contract line associated with this serial number.

Return Information

These fields contain information relating to the return of the item associated with the serial number.

Field		Description
Return Material Authorization		If the item associated with the serial number is authorized to be returned, the associated Return Material Authorization appears here.
Receiving Inspection		If the item associated with the serial number was subject to an inspection, the record associated with that inspection is shown here.
Original Serial Number Record		If the item was received with a different serial number to the one it is shipped with, the number of the original serial number of the item appears here.
