Update a Plan with the Latest Data from Analytics

You can update plans created from an Analytics dataset to get the latest changes from the dataset. This might be useful if the dataset was updated with newer data that you want to bring into your plan.

You can update a plan column, a plan row, or an entire plan scenario with the latest data from Analytics.

Notes:
  • You can only update a plan from Analytics that was created from a data source. You cannot update plans that were created as blank plans.
  • The value transformations used when creating a plan are ignored while updating from Analytics. For example, you might have created your budget for 2025 using your actuals data for 2024, replacing 2024 with 2025. When you update the 2025 dimension value, the values for 2025, not 2024, are retrieved from the dataset.
  • The filters used when creating a plan are ignored while updating from Analytics. For example, you might have created your budget for 2025 using your actuals data for 2024 by filtering out all other years from the dataset. When you update an entire scenario for the plan, all years are retrieved by default. You can change this by choosing to only update the existing values for 2025.
  • If the input dataset was created by sending a tree view plan to Analytics, subtotal rows are ignored when updating from Analytics.
