Updating a Plan Column from Analytics

If a plan was created from Analytics, you can update a plan column with the latest data in the dataset.

Note:

To update a plan column from Analytics, you must:

  • Have read and write access to the plan.
  • Have access to the Analytics dataset that was used to create the plan.
  • Be assigned the xP&A - Manage Plans permission set.
  • Be assigned the CRM Analytics Platform User permission set.

To update a plan column with the latest data from Analytics:

  1. Open the plan scenario that contains the column that you want to update from Analytics.
  2. Depending on how your plan is configured and on what you want to update, do one of the following:

    • If your plan is configured to display measures as columns, to update a single measure column, right-click the column header that contains the name of the measure. For example, if your plan contains a measure named Dual, right-click the header of the Dual column to update it.
    • To update the lowest-level dimension value and all the measures within it, right-click the column header that contains the dimension value. For example, if your plan contains a dimension value of 001 that contains the Dual and Home measures, right-click 001 to update both measures.
    • To update a dimension value that groups other dimension values together, right-click the column header that contains the grouping dimension value. For example, if your plan contains a dimension value of 2024 that groups dimension values 001, 002, 003, and so on, right-click 2024 to update the entire group.
  3. Click Update from Analytics.
  4. If you want to retrieve dimension and measure values that exist in the dataset but currently don't exist in the plan, leave Only Update Existing Cells deselected. This can result in new columns and rows being added. If you don't want to retrieve new values, select Only Update Existing Cells.
  5. Click Update from Analytics.
  6. Click Save.
