Generating Depreciation Schedules and Journals from a Fixed Asset Process

You can generate both depreciation schedules and depreciation journals for multiple assets using a fixed asset process.

To generate both depreciation schedules and depreciation schedule journals from a fixed asset process:

  1. On the Fixed Asset Process Management page, open the process from which you want to generate depreciation schedules and journals. For more information about creating fixed asset processes, see Creating Fixed Asset Processes.
  2. Click Generate Depreciation Schedules and Journals.
  3. Note:

If any depreciation schedule settings are missing, the Generate and Export Depreciation Schedules window displays. Specify the missing details and then click Generate and Export.

The batch job to generate depreciation schedules starts. If a depreciation schedule has been generated successfully, Fixed Asset Management automatically creates a new depreciation journal. The journal's description uses the existing asset's description preceded by Asset Depreciation:. To check the status of the batch job, see the newly created batch job record in the Related tab.

Note:

To generate depreciation schedules for multiple fixed assets simultaneously, you must have the FAM - Depreciation Schedule - Generate and Export permission set assigned.
