Plan Locking
You can lock a plan to ensure that it can no longer be edited. This might be useful if you want to mark the plan as finalized. For example, after the plan has been reviewed and approved.
When a plan is locked, you cannot perform the following actions:
- Create, edit, or delete the plan's scenarios
.
- Edit the plan table for any of the plan's scenarios. This includes adding and deleting rows and columns, as well as editing cells.
- Import data from an XLSX file.
- Add new cell comments.
You can lock a plan using the Lock Plan button on the Plan record page. Once a plan is locked, the Locked field on the plan record is selected.
Scenario Locking
When you lock a plan, all its scenarios are automatically locked. Alternatively, you can lock a specific scenario of an unlocked plan. This might be useful if the scenario is finalized but the plan that the scenario belongs to is not.
When a scenario is locked, you cannot perform the following actions:
- Edit the name or description of the scenario.
- Edit the plan table for the scenario. This includes adding and deleting rows and columns, as well as editing cells.
- Import data from an XLSX file.
- Add new cell comments.
You can, however, mark a locked scenario as the default scenario for the plan and create new scenarios from it.
You can lock a scenario by selecting the Locked field in the Manage Scenarios window from the plan table.
Background Process Locking
The plan table can be temporarily locked by a background process. This happens automatically when a background process is started to ensure data integrity. Once the process finishes, the plan table automatically becomes editable again.
