New Features and Enhancements in Extended Planning and Analysis Winter 2025
The following new features have been introduced in the Winter 2025 release of Extended Planning and Analysis.
If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Extended Planning and Analysis Winter 2025. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.
Additional Plan Information Sent to Analytics
When you send a plan to Analytics, the resulting dataset now contains additional information about the plan. The following fields are now available in the dataset:
- Default Scenario
- Plan Created By ID
- Plan Created By Name
- Plan Created Date
- Plan Last Modified By ID
- Plan Last Modified By Name
- Plan Last Modified Date
You can use these fields in your reports and dashboards. For more information, see Fields on Datasets Created from Plans.
Creating and Managing Relationships
You can now create and manage parent child relationships for plans and plan scenarios. These relationships enable you to create a hierarchical and summarized view of the data from multiple plans or scenarios, by displaying the data from one or more child scenarios on a parent plan. For information about creating a relationship, see Creating a Relationship.
Custom Logic
We have enhanced the filter logic when creating a plan from a data source or from a template, or when creating a template. Before, the two options were All Conditions are Met (AND), and Any Condition is Met (OR). From Winter 2025, you also have the option to make use of custom logic which enables you to make use of both AND and OR operators, applying multiple filters at the same time.
For example, you might want to forecast revenue for ongoing and upcoming projects in the USA, focusing on strategic projects that are either in specific stages or projects with no defined close date. In this case, you can use custom logic to apply multiple filters at once and retrieve the specific data you need.
For more information, see Data Source Filter Reference.
Data Source Enhancements
We have rearranged the Data Source layout to improve the UI and provide an improved user experience. You can now find a new tab, Mappings, on Data Source record pages. Before, mappings were displayed in the Related tab, now these can be found in the Mappings tab, while the Related tab is used for related lists such as Plans and Plan Template.
In this new tab, you can see existing mappings, create new ones, and edit existing mappings by clicking Edit.
