Plan Table Overview

The plan table consists of columns, rows, and cells.

Columns contain dimension values grouped together to establish a hierarchy. For example, your plan might contain the following column dimensions: Quarter, Period, and Balance Type. If your plan is configured to display measures as columns, the lowest level column represents the measure.

Rows contain dimension values. For example, your plan might contain the following row dimensions: Trial Balance 1, Trial Balance 2, and GLA. If your plan is configured to display measures as rows, the name of the measure is displayed in the row.

A table cell is uniquely identified by the combination of dimension values and a measure. For example, a cell might be defined as follows:

  • Quarter: Q1
  • Period: 001
  • Balance Type: Budget
  • Trial Balance 1: Assets
  • Trial Balance 2: Current Assets
  • GLA: 1020 - Cash in bank
  • Measure: Dual
  • Value: 800,000.00

Depending on how the plan is configured, this might be displayed as Example Table Cell - Column Measure, Example Table Cell - Row Measure, or Example Table Cell - Tree View.
