Creating an Assumption from the Assumptions Tab

You can create assumptions and associate them with projects, opportunities, or accounts. Effective management of assumptions allows for early identification of potential risks or issues, leading to more informed project planning.

To create an assumption from the Assumptions tab:

  1. On the Assumptions tab, click New. The New Assumption window appears.
  2. In the Information section:

    1. In the Assumption Name field, specify the name for the assumption. For example, RAID Assumption.
    2. [Optional] Enter a description for the assumption.

    7. [Optional] In the Project, Project Task, and Milestone fields, search for and select the project, project task, and milestone to which the assumption relates.
  3. In the Detail section:

    1. [Optional] Select the impact of the assumption on a scale of one to five, where one is the lowest impact and five is the highest.
    2. [Optional] Select the likelihood of the assumption on a scale of one to five, where one is the least likely and five is the most likely.
    3. [Optional] Enter the validation plan for the assumption.
    4. [Optional] For the comments field, enter any additional comments related to assumption.
  4. In the Status section:

    1. In the Status field, select any of the following statuses for the assumption:

      1. Active
      2. Validated
      3. Invalidated
    2. In the Validated Date field, specify the date on which the assumption is scheduled to be validated.
  5. Click Save.
Note:

The Active status is selected for the new assumption by default in the New Assumption window.
