Dependencies Overview
In PSA, a dependency represents a task, deliverable, or condition that a project relies on to proceed and can be documented as part of the RAID.
Each dependency has the following key details:
- Dependency name
- Description
- Owner
- Status
Every dependency is assessed based on its impact analysis to understand the effect of delays or changes in the dependency. They can be linked to relevant project components, such as milestones, opportunities, or tasks, and are tracked by Closed Dates to identify when they were closed.
Tracking dependencies ensures that potential blockers are identified early, managed proactively, and resolved in alignment with project timelines. You can create a dependency from the following:
- Dependencies tab
- Related tab on the project record
- RAID actions in the Actions panel
