Creating a Dependency from the Dependencies Tab
You can create dependencies and associate them with projects, opportunities, or accounts. Tracking dependencies ensures that potential blockers are identified early, managed proactively, and resolved in alignment with project timelines.
To create a dependency from the Dependencies tab:
- On the Dependencies tab, click New. The New Dependency window appears.

In the Information section:
- In the Dependency Name field, specify the name for the dependency. For example, RAID Dependency.
- [Optional] Enter a description for the dependency.
- [Optional] In the Date Raised field, enter the date the dependency was raised. The Date Raised field is automatically populated with the current date. Update this field to reflect the actual date the dependency was raised.
- [Optional] In the Dependency Owner field, search for and select the contact to whom you want to assign the dependency.
- [Optional] In the Opportunity field, search for and select the opportunity to which the dependency relates. For example, Gadgets and Gizmos - ProServ AddOn.
- [Optional] In the Account field, search for and select the account to which the dependency relates. For example, Merlin Technologies Pty.
- [Optional] In the Project, Project Task, and Milestone fields, search for and select the project, project task, and milestone to which the dependency relates.

In the Details section:
- [Optional] Enter an impact analysis for the dependency.
- [Optional] Enter any relevant comments for the dependency.

In the Status section:

In the Status field, select any of the following statuses for the dependency:
- Open
- Closed
- In the Closed Date field, specify the date on which the dependency is scheduled to be closed.

- Click Save or click Save & New to save and create another.
