Work Event Calendar Overview

An administrator can add the Work Event Calendar to any record, app, or Home page. You use the Work Event Calendar to manage work events for resources who have assignments on the project. You can:

  • Filter the calendar views to contain only the resources you need.
  • Create, edit, and delete work events for resources on the Combined Calendar view, and send an invite to the event to each relevant contact's Google or Outlook calendar.
Note:

You must have the relevant permissions to be able to create work events and work event invites, and to view the availability of contacts. If you cannot create work events, contact your administrator.

There are two views, which display resources that have assignments on the project and are selected in the Filters panel Resources field:

  • Combined Calendar: Displays work events for up to 100 selected resources in one calendar.
  • Resource Calendars: Displays work events for up to 10 selected resources in individual calendars.

Both views are available on record pages. On app or Home pages, only the Resource Calendars view is available.

Filtering the Work Event Calendar

The default resources displayed in the calendar views depends on the page type:

  • On a project record, the calendar displays resources who have assignments on the project, and are are selected in the Resources filter field.
  • On any other record, app or Home page, the calendars display signed-in Salesforce users that are selected in the Resources filter field.

To filter the calendars to show the relevant resources:

  1. Click Filters. The Filters panel opens.
  2. In the Resources field, select or deselect resources.

The availability of your selected contacts is shown on the work event calendar.
