Creating an App from the WorkGrid Analytics Template
The app template for WorkGrid Analytics enables you to generate an app that contains a dashboard. In the configuration wizard you can select a dataset that contains data from WorkGrid plans. This dataset is used by the app to populate the dashboard.
For more information about app templates, dashboards, and datasets, see the Salesforce Help for Analytics.
You can have multiple apps to compare different types of scenarios according to the nature of their data. For example, you can create a Financial Plans app to compare scenarios that include financial data, and an Operational Plans app to compare scenarios that include data related to your projects.
The length of time for your first WorkGrid Analytics app to be generated depends on the volume of information stored within your org and whether you have turned on specific features in Analytics.
If the Data Sync and Connections feature and the Incremental Sync connection mode are not enabled in your org, we recommend enabling them. Enabling these features can improve the performance of the app generation. For more information, see the Salesforce Help.
Selecting a Dataset
During the WorkGrid Analytics configuration wizard, you must select the dataset that the Plan Scenario Comparison dashboard uses. The names of the datasets are displayed in the picklist. Once you select one, its API name is displayed instead. This helps you identify two or more datasets with the same name.
To check the API names of your datasets:
- In Analytics Studio, click Browse | Datasets.
- For the dataset that you want to check its API name for, click
| Edit. The API Name field contains the API name of your dataset.
