Account Resourcing Overview

Account Resourcing, an extension of the Account object, holds additional information for individual accounts. This allows customer success managers to automatically allocate CS resources to different accounts. The Is Assign field indicates whether an account resourcing record has already been used for auto-allocation. The Is Assigned field can be selected when editing an account resourcing record, but not during its creation. Once selected, this field cannot be deselected.

By default, the Is Default field is set to true. When a new entry is created, its Is Default field is true, and all other entries will have their Is Default fields set to false. If an existing entry is edited and its Is Default field is set to true, the Is Default field of the previously designated default entry is automatically updated to false.

You can create an account resourcing record from the Account Resourcing tab. For more information, see Creating an Account Resourcing Records.

Allocating Resources to Accounts

You can manually allocate any active CS Cloud resource or automatically allocate the most suitable CS Cloud resource from a pool of resources to an account. The resource allocated to an account record is also the owner of that record. An account can have multiple owner, that is, multiple CS resources can be allocated to a single account record.

An account resourcing record can only be used once to allocate a CS resource to an account. To allocate multiple CS resources to a single account, you must have multiple unassigned default account resourcing records associated with that account. The resource receives a notification whenever they are allocated to an account.

For more information, see Auto-Allocating Resources to Accounts.

Creating Account Skills

You can create account skills to determine the skills and competencies a resource must have to be suitable for allocation to the account. You can associate CS skills with an account from the Account Skills tab or the Account Skills related list of the Account's record page.
