New Features and Enhancements in Foundations Winter 2026

The following new features have been introduced in the Winter 2026 release of Foundations.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Foundations Winter 2026. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than Summer 2025, check the documentation for previous releases for upgrade details.

Set up the Delegated System User via the Feature Console

You can now set up a delegated system user by enabling the Configure the Delegated System User feature in the Feature Console. We recommend you set up a delegated system user to perform platform events that are triggered by asynchronous processes. Some asynchronous processes, such as auto-staffing, will fail if a delegated system user is not configured in your org.

Hierarchical View of Asynchronous Jobs in Asynchronous Framework Tracker

The Asynchronous Framework Tracker now provides a hierarchical view to improve monitoring of complex background processes. It now logically organizes asynchronous job groups, clearly showing their relationships and dependencies, which the standard Salesforce Apex Jobs page often fails to do. Asynchronous Job Groups act as parents to individual asynchronous job records, indicating execution dependencies within groups.

With this new structure, you can:

  • Quickly visualize job groupings and dependencies.
  • Easily view job statuses and understand the relationships among groups and records.
  • Utilize filtering tools to efficiently locate specific jobs.
  • View the details of the selected job group or job record in the Record Details panel.

For more information, see Asynchronous Framework Tracker Overview, FDN Asynchronous Framework Tracker Lightning Component Fields, and Async Job Group Overview.

Manage Sequences Efficiently from the Sequencing Page

You can now manage sequences more efficiently thanks to a new streamlined user interface, fully built with Lightning and accessible from the Sequencing page.

We have redesigned the sequencing functionality to provide a consistent and seamless experience that helps you optimize your work. This enhanced sequencing retains all the functionality of the previous version while offering an improved user experience. Additionally, leveraging Lightning technology ensures Foundations remains accessible, secure, and robust enough to continue supporting our suite of products.

Manage Billing Document to Avalara Mappings

We have improved the Billing Document (Invoice) Tax Mappings by adding the Description field to the list of target fields available in Avalara AvaTax. You can use this field to include account names that are greater than 50 characters in length on your Avalara documents, by mapping the Account Name field on the billing document to it.

Tip:

If you map the Account Name to the Description, you must retain the Billing Account to the Customer Code field mapping, because the Customer Code is mandatory in Avalara AvaTax.

For more information, see Customizing Avalara AvaTax Tax Calculation Mappings.

View Canceled Asynchronous Job Groups

You can now view the canceled status of an entire group of asynchronous jobs that were halted at the root level. This allows you to check the status of jobs that were canceled across the entire group, effectively stopping all processes within that group.

  • The Async Job Record object now has a new Is Cancelable by Group field and an Is Job Group Canceled formula field. The Is Cancelable by Group field indicates whether the job can be canceled by being part of a canceled job group. The Is Job Group Canceled field allows you to quickly check the canceled status of a job's parent and root groups.

  • When a job group is canceled, the system automatically assesses whether individual jobs within that group should also be canceled.
  • Additionally, we've introduced a "CANCELED" status option for both the Status and Finalizer Status fields on the Async Job Record object. This helps you track when jobs are canceled due to the cancellation of their job group and provides the necessary infrastructure for setting a job's status in trigger and execution service contexts.

For more information, see Async Job Record Fields.
