Updating Plaid Bank Account Connections
Bank connections store the details of each bank account you have connected to using Plaid Link
Provides a secure authentication flow for each institution that Plaid supports. Link makes it secure and easy for you to connect your bank accounts to Plaid as it guides you through credential validation and multi-factor authentication (MFA)..
You might need to refresh the authentication information if, for example:
- Your login credentials have changed for a bank or other financial institution
- Multi-factor authentication requirements have changed
- Your login becomes locked.
To update the Plaid bank connections, complete the following steps:
- Log in as the dedicated Plaid integration user.
- Click Update Bank Connections - Plaid in the Bank Connection Actions panel on the Bank Connections tab. The Plaid portal displays.
- In the pop-up window, select the Bank to which the Institution ID belongs and enter your credentials.
- Ensure that the accounts you want to work with are selected. Only selected accounts will be updated. Accounts not selected will no longer be active for operations and therefore cannot be used for import, refresh, or other operations.
- Click Continue to complete the update.
- A window displays to confirm that the connections have been updated.
If the Update Bank Connection process fails because a Plaid item cannot be removed, you will receive an email with the error details, advising you to contact Plaid Support to remove the item.
