Updating Envestnet Bank Account Connections

Bank connections store the details of each bank account you have connected to using Envestnet FastLink.

You might need to refresh the authentication information if, for example:

  • Your login credentials have changed for a bank or other financial institution
  • Multi-factor authentication requirements have changed
  • Your login becomes locked
Warnings:

Update Action on individual accounts has been updated. Now you must update your credentials from the Bank Connections tab.

To update the Envestnet bank connections, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in as the dedicated Envestnet integration user.
  2. Click Update Bank Connections - Envestnet in the Bank Connection Actions panel on the Bank Connections tab. The Envestnet portal displays.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the Bank to which the Institution ID belongs and enter your new credentials.
  4. Ensure that the accounts you want to work with are selected. Only selected accounts will be updated. Accounts not selected will no longer be active for operations and therefore cannot be used for import, refresh, or other operations.
  5. Click Save and Finish to complete the update.
  6. To verify the update, navigate to the Bank Account Connections tab and click Request Latest Institution Information - Envestnet to request the connection status.
  7. Check the notifications for a success status update.
Notes:
  • You should not cancel the process after entering your credentials. If you do, the system will update bank credentials but not account IDs, which can cause issues when you try to retrieve bank information for that account.
  • A bank account connection cannot be updated if it has been removed and its Is Obsolete field is selected. To update a removed bank account connection, you must reconnect it first. For more information, see Creating Envestnet Bank Connections.
