Updating a Plan Scenario with the Latest Data from Analytics Using Saved Defaults

You can update a plan that was created from an Analytics dataset to get the latest changes from the dataset. This can be useful if the dataset was updated with newer data that you want to bring into your plan. When you update a plan scenario using its saved defaults, the scenario is updated using the default dimension filters, measure filter, and dimension value mappings that are currently saved for the scenario.

Notes:

To update a plan scenario from Analytics, you must:

  • Have read and write access to the plan.
  • Have access to the Analytics dataset that was used to create the plan.
  • Be assigned the WorkGrid - Manage Plans or the WorkGrid - Contribute to Plans permission set.
  • Be assigned the CRM Analytics Platform User permission set.
  • Be assigned the Update Plans from Analytics feature permission via a feature access rule.

To update a plan scenario with the latest data from Analytics using its saved defaults:

  1. Open the plan scenario that you want to update from Analytics.
  2. In the plan table toolbar, depending on the available options, click Update from Analytics or click Update from Analytics and then Update from Analytics.
  3. Click Update. The scenario is updated using its saved default dataset filters, measure filter, and dimension value mappings.

    Notes:
    • If the Delete Obsolete Plan Data field is selected for the plan record, some columns, rows, and cells might be deleted.
    • If the input dataset was created by sending a tree view plan to Analytics, subtotal rows in the dataset are ignored when updating from Analytics.
    • If you have read-only access to some cells because an access rule is restricting your access, the read-only cells are not updated from Analytics.
    • If a cell is updated from Analytics and it contains an adjustment, the adjustment amount is applied to the new cell value. For example, the original cell value is 100. You adjust it by increasing the value by 50, resulting in 150. In Analytics, the value for this cell is 200. When you update the cell from Analytics, the new adjusted value is 250. This only happens if the adjustment's expiration date is not defined, is set to today's date, or is set to a future date.
    • If unit standardization is enabled for the plan, the values retrieved from Analytics are automatically converted to the standardization unit using the relevant rates from the related rate table. For more information, see Standardizing Units of Measure in a Plan.
  4. In the plan table toolbar, click Save.
