You can add comments to plan cells. This enables you to collaborate with other users or store additional information on a cell. This can be useful when a plan or a plan scenarioRepresents an independent scenario, version, or snapshot of a plan. requires input from other users, or when reviewing values provided by other users.
You can only add comments to measure values, which are plan cells that contain numeric values. You cannot add comments to empty cells, dimension values, or column headers. Even if you delete the value of a cell with comments, you can still view the existing comments. However, you cannot edit the existing comments or add new comments. If you delete the entire row or column that contains the cell with comments, the comments are permanently deleted.
The comments that you add to a cell are grouped in a thread. The thread contains a history of all the comments. Once all the comments in a thread have been addressed, you can resolve the thread to mark it as complete. You can reopen a resolved thread to add more comments to it. If you make a mistake, you can edit and delete your own comments in open threads.
To draw a specific collaborator's attention to a comment, you can mention them in a comment. Depending on how your org is configured, they might receive an email and a Salesforce notification with a direct link to the comment in the plan scenario. Any other users who were previously mentioned in or have commented on the thread also receive a notification. If you clone comments when creating a new plan scenario or cloning a plan, users previously mentioned in those comments are not notified. They are only notified when a reply is added to the new comment thread. In addition, you can use the Mentioned In filter to view all the comment threads that you were mentioned in.
