Scheduling the Process to Generate Services Forecast Data

You can schedule a process that generates forecast data for all eligible records.

To schedule the process:

1. Do one of the following:

   • From the PSA Administration tab, scroll down to the Services Forecasting section.
   • From the Services Forecast Setup tab, open the active services forecast setup record. If one does not already exist, you must create one. If you create a new active services forecast setup record when there is an existing scheduled job, there is no need to reschedule the job.
2. Click Run Services Forecast.
3. Enter a name for the scheduled job, for example, Generate Services Forecast Data. This name must be unique.

4. For Schedule Frequency, select one of the following:

   • Weekly: if you want the job to run on specific days of the week. You can then select the days.
   • Monthly: if you want the job to run once every month. You can then select a monthly method to determine on which day of the month the job runs.

   Field	Description
   Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat	Only available when "Weekly" is selected as the frequency. Determines whether the job runs on the specific day of the week. For example, if you select Mon, the job runs each Monday at the specified start time.
   Monthly Method	Only available when "Monthly" is selected as the frequency. Determines how to calculate the day of the month when the job runs. The following options are available: "Last Day of Month". Note that this is the last calendar day of the month. If a month ends on a Saturday, the job runs on that day. "Date" "Day of the Month" "Days Before Month End"
   Day of the Month (number)	Only available when "Date" is selected as the monthly method. Determines the date on which the job runs each month. For example, if you enter 15, the job runs on the 15th of each month.
   Day of the Month (picklist)	Only available when "Day of the Month" is selected as the monthly method. Determines on which occurrence of the day selected in Day of the Week the job runs.
   Day of the Week	Only available when "Day of the Month" is selected as the monthly method. Combined with the value selected for the Day of the Month picklist, determines on which occurrence of the day the job runs. For example, if you select "Last" and "Friday", the job runs on the last Friday of each month, regardless of date.
   Number of Days	Only available when "Days Before Month End" is selected as the monthly method. Determines how many calendar days before the end of each month the job runs. For example, if you enter 3, the job runs on January 28, February 25 (non-leap year), March 28, April 27, and so on. Note: If you set this to 1, the job runs on the day before last of each month. If you want to run the job on the last day of each month, use the "Last Day of Month" method.

5. Enter a start time for the job.

6. [Optional] Select Filter by Region, Practice, or Group. Then, if you want the scheduled job to only include projects and opportunities matching a selected RPG Abbreviation of region, practice, group., then search for and select the relevant RPG.

   Note:

   Accounts do not respect the RPG filtering because there is no lookup to RPG on the Account object. Projects or opportunities with an RPG that is below the selected one in the RPG hierarchy are included. If you do not select the Filter by Region, Practice, or Group option, all valid projects and opportunities are included when the scheduled job is run. 7. Click Create Scheduled Job. The job is now scheduled. Each time it runs, forecast data is generated. However, additional processes must run before the data is available in existing forecasts or new forecasts are created. For more information, see Services Forecasting Scheduled Processes.
