Configuring the Open Record Action for the Services Forecast Live Dataset

You must configure the Open Salesforce Record action for the relevant dimensions in the Services Forecast Live dataset. This is required to:

  • Enable opening source records directly from a forecast.
  • Display the record name in a forecast when the dimension value contains the record ID. For example, the Project ID dimension displays the name of the project in a forecast instead of the record ID of the project.

For more information about how to configure the Open Salesforce Record action for a dataset, see the Salesforce Help. For a streamlined process, see Replacing the Extended Metadata Files for the Dataset.

We recommend configuring the actions as shown in the Recommended Dimensions and their Record ID Field table.

Replacing the Extended Metadata Files for the Dataset

To reduce the manual effort and the risk of errors, we have prepared updated metadata file that you can upload to Analytics Studio. This configures the Open Salesforce Record action for the recommended dimensions in the dataset.

To replace the extended metadata files:

  1. Download the ServicesForecastLive.xmd.json files.
  2. From Analytics Studio, open the PS Cloud Core Analytics app.
  3. For the Services Forecast Live dataset, click Open actions menu for the Services Forecast Live Dataset and then click Edit.
  4. Under Extended Metadata File, next to ServicesForecastLive.xmd.json, click Extended Metadata File Options and then click Replace.
  5. Select the ServicesForecastLive.xmd.json file that you downloaded in step 1. Once the process finishes, the Services Forecast Live dataset is configured.
