Managing Additional Dataset Fields
You can include up to five additional custom fields from the Account, Contact (Resource), Milestone, Opportunity, and Project objects in the Services Forecast Live dataset. This enables you to add fields that are relevant to your business processes, including your own custom fields.
To include additional fields in the Services Forecast Live dataset:
- From the Services Forecast Setup tab, open the active services forecast setup record. If one does not already exist, you must create one.
- Click Manage Additional Dataset Fields.
- Select the fields that you want to add to the dataset. Fields already included in the dataset are not selectable.
- Click Save. The selected fields display in the Additional Field API Name 1-5 fields on the active services forecast setup record. For more information, see Services Forecast Setup Fields.
- Run a full dataset update for the changes to take effect. For more information, see Updating the Services Forecast Live Dataset On Demand.
The fields are added to the dataset and can be used in your services forecasts.
Considerations and Limitations
When including additional fields in the Services Forecast Live dataset, keep the following considerations and limitations in mind:
-
You can only add custom fields from the following objects:
- Account
- Contact (Resource)
- Milestone
- Opportunity
- Project
- You can include a maximum of five fields across all supported objects.
- Multi-select picklists and encrypted fields are not supported.
- The field names displayed in the Additional Field API Name 1-5 fields on the active services forecast setup record are the API names of the related fields on the Revenue Forecast and Cost Forecast objects. For example, the Status field on the Project object will display as pse__Project__r.Status__c.
- Fields with special characters in their labels have those characters automatically removed from the field API name when added to the dataset. However, the field label retains the original formatting, including special characters. For example, the Requires Customer Sign-Off field on the Milestone object, will have the field API name MilestoneRequiresCustomerSignOff, while its field label remains Milestone Requires Customer Sign-Off.
