New Features and Enhancements in Report Builder Summer 2026

The following new features have been introduced in the Summer 2026 release of Report Builder.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Report Builder Summer 2026. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

If you are upgrading from a version earlier than Spring 2025, check the documentation for previous releases for upgrade details.

Apply Subtotal Formatting and Labels to Hidden Single-Row Subtotals

When you hide single-row subtotals, a group that contains only one row has its subtotal suppressed. The remaining row now uses the formatting of the subtotal and displays the subtotal's custom label. This ensures that each single-row group is clearly recognizable as its own subtotal. The change applies automatically in your report, as well as in PDF and Excel exports.

For more information, see Configuring Subtotals and Formatting Options Reference.

Limit Year to Date Soft Dates to the Current Period Date Override

If a customizable soft date uses the Year to Date option, when you override the current period date on a report, the report now includes values up to and including the override date. Previously, the report also included values after the override date that belonged to the period, quarter, or year, depending on the soft date type.

For more information, see Configuring Customizable Soft Dates and Configuring Dynamic Soft Dates.

Retrieve More Report Data and Troubleshoot Missing Rows with Lens Data Details

Previously, a Report Builder report stopped retrieving data at a fixed limit, and any query rows over that limit were left out of the report without explanation. The number of query rows a report retrieves is now controlled only by the Query Row Limit field on the Report Builder Settings custom setting. This now defaults to 100,000 and can be set as high as 999,999, so reports return much more of your data. The query limits set on individual lenses in Analytics no longer reduce the query rows a report retrieves.

You can also now view the lens data on the report table. This enables you to see how many rows are available in Analytics, how many were retrieved, and how many are displayed. Each value is also broken down by lens, so you can see why a report shows fewer rows than the underlying data contains. This helps you troubleshoot and resolve issues.

For more information, see Viewing Lens Data Details.

See Every Measure and Formula Column in Your Multi-Lens Reports

When a report table uses more than one lens, Report Builder combines columns from different lenses into a single column where they represent the same value. Previously, it combined two measure columns whenever they used the same measure and aggregation method. This happened even if you defined different column headers or measure-level filters, so columns you intended to keep separate were missing from your report. Report Builder now combines measure columns only when their measure, aggregation method, column header, and measure-level filters all match. Formula columns are only combined when they share the same header, rather than by their position or formula. This ensures that reports built from several lenses display every column you configured.

For more information, see Using Multiple Lenses.

View API Names Alongside Field Labels in Real-Time Configuration

When configuring real-time reporting, you can now view the API names of dataset and object fields in parentheses, following the field's label. This makes it easier to identify the correct field, especially when the labels are similar.

For more information, see Real-Time Reporting.

View Download Date and Dataset Refresh Date in Report Exports

When you export a report, the exported CSV and XLSX files now contain the download date and time at the top of the file. For consistency, PDF exports also display the download date and time at the start of the first page, instead of in the page footer. Also, tables configured to display their dataset refresh date also display when the data was last refreshed in the exported report. This helps with reconciliation, making it easier to verify whether additional transactions have been posted since the report was exported.

For more information, see Exporting Reports and Statements.
