Using the Resource Planner

When you click your browser's Back button while using the resource planner, PSA returns to the page displayed prior to starting the resource planner.

To open the resource plannerA graphical tool that gives you an organized, comprehensive view of resources and the projects to which they are assigned.:

1. Ensure that permission controls are set up for Resource Request Entry and Staffing for each resourceA contact that works on a project., regionA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., practiceA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects., groupA level of hierarchy used in PSA to which other objects belong such as resources, opportunities and projects. and/or projectA collection of activities and related items to be managed over a defined time range, such as timecards, expenses, milestones and budgets.. See "Permission Controls".
2. Ensure that there are resources assigned to your projects.
3. Click Resource Planner on the home page sidebar , or click View in Planner on the Assign Resource section of the Resource page after carrying out a search for a resource.

   When the Resource Planner starts, the resources in your region for which you have permission controls are listed in the left pane. Resources for other regions only appear if you modify the search criteria to include more regions. See "Searching in the Resource Planner".

4. To show all assignments for a resource, click the arrow icon next to the Name.

   Schedule blocks appear on the right-hand side of the page.

5. Place cursor over a resource or assignment for more information about it. See "Planner Fields" for further information.

To display and edit the details of a resource:

1. Select the resource you want to look at and click Edit Info / Get Info or double-click the resource name.
2. Select the assignment you want to view.
3. Make the changes you want using the fields described in "Planner Fields".
4. Click Save.
