Creating a Project Task Hierarchy

You can create a project task hierarchy by creating child tasks underneath a parent or summary task:

1. Display the project task to which you want to add a child task.
2. Scroll to the Project Tasks (Child Task) related list.
3. Click New Project Task.
4. Complete the fields described in "Project Task Fields".
5. Click Save.

Note

Points, percentages, and status checkbox fields are rolled up from child to parent fields as progress is made on project tasks.Points calculation fields on the parent project task reflect the child tasks.You cannot create a child task if the parent task already has an assignment.
