Project Task Assignment Fields

Here is a description of the fields on a project task assignmentAssociates a resource with a project task. This has no relationship with an Assignment..

Key:

R – Read-only.
AP – Automatically Populates, do not edit manually.

Assignment	AP	Lookup to the assignment on the associated resource requestA means of asking for resources for a project or an opportunity..
External Resource	& AP	Name of a resource external to PSA who is to be assigned to the project taskA unit of work or collection of work associated with a project.. Note If it contains a value, this field automatically clears when you come to assign a resource to a task-driven resource requestDescribes a resource request that has been generated based on information on project tasks and their associated project task assignments. If you use a bottom-up approach to manage your projects, you can generate task-driven resource requests on the Generate Resource Requests From Project Task Assignments page (accessed from Project Task Gantt or the Project detail record).. The "auto-update-pta-with-assigned-resource" setting must be set to True. For more information, see "Generating Resource Requests from Project Tasks".
Project	R	Lookup to the project on the parent project task.
Project Task	R	Project task to which the assignment relates.
Project Task Assignment Number	R	Record ID of the project task assignment.
Project Task Start/End Date	R	Start or end date for the project task.
Resource	& AP	Name of the internal resource who is to be assigned to the project task. Note This field automatically populates with a value when you come to assign a resource to a task-driven resource request. The "auto-update-pta-with-assigned-resource" setting must be set to True. For more information, see "Generating Resource Requests from Project Tasks".
Resource Request	AP	Lookup to the associated resource request. This field only has a value if you have generated resource requests based on the project task assignment—see "Generating Resource Requests from Project Tasks".
Resource Role	&	The role of the internal or external resource who is to be assigned to the project task.
