Using the Project Planner

When you click your browser's Back button while using the Project Planner, PSA returns to the page displayed prior to starting the Project Planner.

To open the Project Planner:

  1. Ensure Permission Controls are set up for Resource Request Entry and Staffing for each of your Resources, Regions, Practices, Groups and/or Projects. See "Permission Controls".
  2. Ensure that there are resources assigned to your Projects.
  3. Do one of the following on the Home page sidebar:
    1. If you want to work with all projects with resources to which you have permission controls, click Project Planner .
    2. If you only want to work with projects to which you are assigned as the project manager, click Project Planner (PM)

    When the Project Planner starts, Projects are displayed in according to the version of the Project Planner you started.

  4. To show all resources assigned to a project, click the arrow icon next to the Project Name.

    Schedule blocks appear on the right-hand side of the page. Project hours for the schedule time period are shown in blue, and hours assigned for each Resource are shown in Gray.

  5. Use the icons described in "Planner Fields".

To display and edit the details of a project:

  1. Select the project you want to look at and click Get Info/Edit Info or double-click the project name.
  2. Select the resource you want to view.
  3. Make the changes you want using the fields described in "Planner Fields".
  4. Click Save.
