Classic Services Forecasting Permissions Overview

Default Access

Depending on your role, you can view, enter, and override forecasts without permission controls.

Region, Practice, or Group (RPG) Owner

If you are a Region, Practice, or Group (RPG) owner, you can perform these tasks by default:

• View forecasts made for sub-regions, -groups, or -practices (sub-RPGs) immediately below yours in the hierarchy.
• View project forecasts made in your RPGAbbreviation of region, practice, group., or an immediate sub-RPG.
• Enter a total or contributing forecast for your RPG, based on forecasts made for contributing sub-RPGs.
• Override forecasts made by subordinates for immediate sub-RPGs.
• Override project (but not sub-project) forecasts made in your RPG, or an immediate sub-RPG.
• Sum up project forecastsA forecast of services revenue entered by a Project Manager or Project Owner for a project or sub-project. to the RPG hierarchy.

If you are an owner of a subordinate RPG you can carry out the same tasks by default as an RPG owner, but for immediate sub-RPGs. You cannot view, enter, or override forecasts made for RPGs above yours in the hierarchy without either the Forecast View or Forecast Edit permission control, with the Cascading checkbox selected, on the relevant RPG.

Project Manager

If you are a Project Manager, you can perform these tasks by default:

• View forecasts for immediate sub-projects.
• Enter a total or contributing project forecast, based on sub-project forecasts.
• Override forecasts made by other Project Managers for sub-projects.

By default, you can only view RPGs on the Services Forecasts page that are within the RPG Hierarchies that you are a part of.

The Regions, Practices, Groups, and Projects categories only display if you are part of the relevant hierarchy and the relevant configuration options to show these categories are enabled in your organization. See Forecasts Settings.

Extending Permissions

RPG owners and Project Managers can use permission controls to grant permissions certain users who require them. For example:

• If you are a Project Manager, you can grant the Forecast Edit permission control to an internal or external colleague who you want to enter forecasts for your projects or sub-projects.

If you need to grant permission controls to another user, contact your administrator to enable access to permission controls for your user.
