Enabling Gantt

To use Gantt, you need to enable this feature through Feature Console. By enabling this feature, you can use Gantt to add and manage project tasks and project task assignments.

To enable Gantt:

  1. In the Features list in Feature Console, click PSA Gantt.
  2. In the Feature Steps section, click Mark as Done in the Action column of step 1. This is a mandatory step.
  3. Click Perform in the Action column of step 2. When this step completes, its status changes to "DONE". This creates the Gantt button on the Project object.
  4. Click Perform in the Action column of either step 3 or step 4, depending on the page layout that you are using:

    • If you are using a Project page layout, perform step 3. This adds the Gantt button to the Project page layout in Classic.
      • If you are an existing customer and Lightning buttons are not enabled, the button is added to the page layout.
      • If you are a new customer, and Lightning buttons are enabled, you need to add the button manually. See Adding Buttons to Page Layouts.
    • If you are using a Project Detail page layout, perform step 4. This adds the Gantt button to the Project Detail page layout in Classic. If you are using Lightning, you need to add the button manually. See Adding Buttons to Page Layouts.

You must wait for the step to complete.

  5. [Optional] Assign the PSA Project Manager-Gantt permission set to users trialing Gantt, and then click Mark as Done. If not needed, click Skip.

  6. To be able to open and use Gantt, in the Feature section, move the Status slider to Feature Console slider - on (on). The Messages panel displays a summary of the changes.

Adding Buttons to Page Layouts

To add the Gantt button manually to a page layout, add the button from the Mobile & Lightning Actions list to the Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Experience Actions section.

Assigning Permissions

You need to assign permissions to users to enable them to access and view or edit Gantt. For more information, see Assigning Gantt Permissions.
