New Features and Enhancements in Planning Spring 2023

The following new features have been introduced in the Spring 2023 release of Planning.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, see Upgrading to Planning Spring 2023. This provides a summary of the items that have been added for each feature and details of any required upgrade steps.

FinancialForce is Now Certinia

We have made the following changes to align with our new Certinia brand:

  • The publisher name has been updated to Certinia
  • Package names no longer reference FinancialForce
  • In most cases, text referring to FinancialForce has been replaced with Certinia

Note:

Major versions include updates to both package and publisher names. In service packs, only the package name has changed. Some elements, such as theming and logos, have not been updated and other references to FinancialForce might remain visible in your org.

Dependencies on other Certinia Packages

You must install the following packages as a mandatory package before installing or upgrading to this release of Planning:

  • Certinia Foundations Spring 2023
  • Certinia Business Analytics Spring 2023

Budget Comparison Dashboard

The Budget Comparison dashboard enables you to compare budgets with budget versions and actuals, view the variance and see variance details, and calculate the margin trend for annual, quarterly, and monthly periods.

Enabling Other Sources for Mapping Rules

The Enabling Other Sources for Mapping Rules page allows you to transform records from Other Sources into Planning. To use this feature, you must enable the Enabling Other Sources for Mapping Rules feature in the Feature Console. For more information, see Enabling Other Sources for Mapping Rules.

Enhancements to Budgets

Prior to this release, the budget could only be edited by selecting a budget from the Budget list. We have enhanced this functionality and you can now open the budget from the Budget list and click the Edit button. The Edit button allows you to easily edit the existing budgets and budget details irrespective of working in any budget subtabs. For more information, see Editing the Budget Details.

Restrict Editing the Headcount by Resource Line Grid with Read Access

We have prevented having a user with Read access to the budget performing any changes to the Headcount by Resource Line grid, so the administrator can share a headcount by resource budget with read access without risk. For more information, see Generating the Headcount by Resource Lines.

Certinia Help

We have introduced a new Certinia Help Lightning component to enable you to easily access documentation that is relevant to the processes you’re completing or the page you’re viewing.

The new component is available to access from selected Certinia apps or from custom utility bars.From Spring 2023, the Certinia Help product have introduced the Certinia Help utility bar.
