Updating Plaid Bank Account Connections

Bank connections store the details of each bank account you have connected to using Plaid LinkClosed Provides a secure authentication flow for each institution that Plaid supports. Link makes it secure and easy for you to connect your bank accounts to Plaid as it guides you through credential validation and multi-factor authentication (MFA)..

You might need to refresh the authentication information if, for example:

  • Your login credentials have changed for a bank or other financial institution
  • Multi-factor authentication requirements have changed
  • Your login becomes locked.

To update a bank account connection:

  1. Log in as the dedicated Plaid integration userClosed This user is used to connect to bank accounts through Plaid. It must not be used for anything else. This is in line with Plaid’s recommendation to enable the tracking of events should an issue occur that requires support intervention..
  2. Click the Bank Account Connections tab.
  3. Click a bank connection associated with the bank or institution details you want to update.
  4. On the Bank Account Connections detail page, click Update and follow the Plaid Link instructions shown on screen.
Note:

A bank account connection cannot be updated if it has been removed and its Is Obsolete field is selected. To update a removed bank account connection, you must reconnect it first. For more information, see Creating Plaid Bank Connections.
