Impact on Business Analytics Assets
This table provides a summary of the changes that apply to your assets when you upgrade your Business Analytics app.
Asset |
Description of Changes |
---|---|
Dataflow | The upgrade process overwrites all changes you've made to the app's dataflow, including any new fields or objects you've added to it. However, dataflows created separately aren't affected by the upgrade. |
Datasets |
The upgrade process overrides all changes you've made to the app's datasets, such as changes to a dataset name or .xmd dataset file. The upgrade process doesn't override your changes in the dataset security predicate. This also applies if you've deleted the security predicate. Deleted datasets are created again when the upgrade is complete. The upgrade doesn't affect datasets that you moved from any Business Analytics app to other Analytics apps. Dataset recipes that use an upgraded dataset that contain changes cannot be run again and Analytics displays an error message. Datasets created separately aren't affected by the upgrade. |
Dashboards |
The upgrade process removes all customizations you've made from the app's template dashboards. Deleted dashboards are created again when you upgrade the app. Copies of the app's dashboards and dashboards created separately are not affected by the upgrade. The upgrade process cannot delete dashboards linked to any separate dashboard you've created. In this case, an error will be displayed when you try to upgrade. The dashboards remain available in the upgraded app. Dashboard views are not affected by the upgrade process. If the view has any conflicts (such as a view that uses a deleted field), Analytics will display a warning icon. For more information, see the Salesforce Spring '18 Release Notes. Like views, dashboard annotations are not affected by the upgrade process. If an annotation references a widget that was removed, the annotation is converted into a detached annotation. |
Lenses |
The update process removes any changes you've made from the app's lenses. Deleted lenses are created again after the upgrade is complete. Lenses created separately aren't affected by the upgrade. |
